Waterborne single pack intumescent coating/ paint for steel available in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

All our Intumescent coatings Offer 30minute and 60minute fire resistance to steel.

Fully tested and certified to BS476 parts 20/21 for 30minute and 60minute fire resistance to steel.

Applied by brush, roller or spray.

Coverage for 30 minute fire protection is 3.0m²/litre to universal steel beams and columns on average.

For 1 hour fire resistance contact us for individual loadings for our intumescent coatings.

48 hour delivery throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Application Details

Preparation
Hamron Steel must always be applied to a primed steel substrate. The surface should be dry and free of dust, salts, grease and other contamination immediately before coating. The primer used should be applied in accordance with the specific technical data sheet instructions and must be approved by Hamron to ensure compatibility with the Hamron Steel.

Environmental Conditions
Hamron Steel must only be applied in dry, unexposed conditions that will be free from high humidity and condensation.

Relative humidity: up to 80%

Surface temperature: minimum 5ºC maximum 40ºC

The surface temperature must also be at least 3ºC above dew point.

Optimum drying conditions are at temperatures above 10°C with good air movement.

Safety Data

This product is not combustible.

This product is not a dangerous preparation according to directive 1999/45/EC.

Application procedure

  1. Clean the equipment with suitable solvent , then thoroughly wash with clean water before use.
  2. Stir the product to an even consistency using a power mixer. Thinning is not required
  3. BRUSH/ROLLER- Apply evenly using a clean, well-loaded brush or roller at up to 300 microns (0.3mm) wet film thickness per coat. Allow at least 4 hours drying at 20°C between coats
  4. Clean all equipment with fresh, clean water immediately after use or at least at the end of each working day or shift.

Application Details

Flametect CWD+ is a Clear, Colourless and Odourless Impregnation, it will not discolour, hard or soft woods or other wood derived materials. It does not leave a visible sheen and dries to a natural finish.

Flametect CWD+. Contains environmentally friendly components that assists the active flame retardant components to deeply penetrate the wood. 

Our products are desig​ned to be easily applied using basic DIY skills or we can help source professional contract spraying teams for the larger projects. ​​​​​​​

Unlike our competitors products we have full test reports to  BS476 Class 0, Class 1 & Euroclass B. BS476 Class 0 is not interchangeable with the Euro Classifications. 

Flametect CWD+. the insoluble formulation "locks in" the flame retardant components together  with couplers that protect the flame retardant from harsh environments leaving a weather resistant colourless impregnation once applied & dry.

Instructions

  • Flametect C-WD+. may be applied to wood by immersion, spray, brush or roller
  • Apply 250ml Per Square metre.
  • It is important that the desired volume is applied to the wood
  • Ensure wood is dry before application, moisture content should be below 20%.
  • The desired absorption rate for most woods & MDF is 4 square metres per litre
  • Where multiple applications are required please allow approximately 1 hour between treatments.
  • When applied externally protect from the elements allow to dry for 24 -48 hours
  • Do not store below 10 Centigrade
  • Use within 90 days of purchase

Flametect Nitro for Synthetic & Natural Textiles

Nitro is the only flame-retardant product available that has been tested independently by the "Institute for Skin and Product Evaluation" for dermal reaction with a full pass result.

Multi-Purpose: use on synthetic or natural materials, preferred for apparel, carpeting and any item that may have a metallic element or embellishment such as curtains with gold or silver yarns or metal furniture that could be tarnished by some corrosive flame retardants.

Iron-on labels: Public Areas such as Hotels, Public Houses, Nursing Homes, B&B's and Schools : It is a legal requirement for Curtains treated with Flame retardant to be labeled with care & durability instructions. 

  • We supply Iron-On Fabric Labels to Identify Fabrics as treated. The labels feature month/year and help to show diligence for maintenance and fire Inspections. 

  • High active solids: 30% compared to around 15% of our competitors products. Which means it goes further and you do not need to saturate the material.

  • Quicker drying times. (Ready to use in 2-3 hours). Easy to apply

  • Non-toxic, non-hazardous formulation and completely Odourless.
